6 Reasons to try Sugaring this Season

Wednesday 5th April 2017

With the sun beginning to peak it's head out from behind the clouds, it's finally that time of year to start showing some skin!

Sugaring is a lesser known form of natural hair removal which dates back to the Egyptian era.

A natural blend of sugar, water and lemon juice is used to remove the entire hair from the root in exactly the same way as waxing, whilst causing little to no irritation to the skin.

Heavenly Green are proud to be one of the few salons trained in this technique with its unique, more gentle approach to the art of hair removal.

Here are our top 6 reasons why you should give sugaring a go this Season!

1. Less Irritation to the skin

Sugaring offers a more gentle approach to hair removal, leaving less irritation on the skin in comparison to waxing. This is because unlike waxing, it doesn't remove the top layer of skin, only the hair.

2. No chemicals or nasties

Sugar is simply that! A natural blend of sugar, lemon and water which results in less chance of allergic reaction and fewer chemicals absorbed by your skin. Bonus!

3. Fewer in grown hairs

Good therapist technique, combined with the gentle formula of the sugar means that fewer hairs are "snapped" off. Subsequently, there is less chance of painful and unsightly in grown hairs growing through once the hair come back.

4. It hurts less!

Now, no method of complete hair removal will ever be totally pain free as you are removing the hair from the root. However, the pain is greatly reduced due to the lower temperature of the sugar in comparison to wax.

5. Less stickiness

Nothing is worse than the aftermath of a wax! Trying to get dressed when you are sticking to everything is uncomfortable and never ends well!
Sugar residue can simply be wiped off with a warm cloth without the need for harsh chemicals needed for wax removal.

6. Long lasting, smooth finish

Sugaring offers a hair free finish for up to 4 weeks and can help to reduce the growth hair when done over a period of time. Hair comes back softer, and finer.
