To tone or not to tone?
Friday 4th August 2017
This is a question we often get in the salon along with countless others asking "What does a toner actually do?....Do I have to use one?...What are the benefits?" and the list goes on.
In short, a good toner is probably one of the most important and best kept beauty secrets out there and here is why.
The main functions of a toner are too
- Mildly exfoliate the skin, allowing for a deeper penetration and better absorption of vital skin loving ingredients found in your moisturiser.
- Even out skin tone and texture, giving a smoother more uniform appearance to the skin.
- Moisturise and hydrate the skin after cleansing, and to help remove any excess cleanser.
- Refine the appearance of open pores, and help re balance the skin's natural pH level after cleansing .
The important thing to remember about using a toner, is to always use it with dry cotton pads on freshly cleansed skin. Using wet cotton pads will water down the solution and it will not be as effective.
